Rain drops fall down like a never ending barrage
It heralds the coming of a sight most dire
Through the blur I catch a glimpse of what could be a mirage
I run toward the manifestation of my desire
But the gap between us expands ever more rapidly
The image fades away in the distance, out of my reach
I run as fast as I can, then stop and stand still absently
My hands cover my eyes as I fall to my knees and emit a screech

The image of a girl reappears before me in the rain
I cannot believe my eyes as they bless me with this sight
I step closer and try to reach out in vain
She starts to move and disappears into the night
Just as I thought I could catch her she eludes me once more
I don't want to do this anymore
