Just before dawn, the policeman arrived at the home of Ms. Kennington. All the lights were shining brightly. Ms. Kennington couldn�t get any sleep, so she decided to stay up and read a book with a glass of hot chocolate. Although Ms. Kennington was never married, she was dating a man named Jacob Salvatore. They had been together for more 2 years. Jacob worked as a pilot, so he was hardly ever home. Sometimes at night Ms. Kennington would find herself crying, hoping he�d be okay.
All of a sudden, Ms. Kennington heard a loud knocking on her door. She got up quietly thinking to herself, �Who would be knocking on my door at this hour?�. Then suddenly, Jacob came to mind. When she opened the door she saw that there was a policeman standing there.
�Hello. Can I help you?� she asked. The policeman said �I�m looking for Ms. Kennington.� She replied �I�m Ms. Kennington. What�s wrong?� The policeman replied � I�m sorry to have to bring you such horrible news, but your boyfriend Jacob was in a car crash about an hour ago.� She said �That�s impossible. He not even supposed to be home for at least 3 more days.�
The policemen replied �He decided to come home early. He was going to surprise you. We found this box in his jacket pocket at the hospital.� The policeman held the black velvet box to Ms. Kennington to show her. Tears welled up in her eyes as she opened it. She replied �He�s dead isn�t he?� �I�m sorry to say this, but yes. He didn�t make it.� Replied the policeman.

I should hate you but I don't. After all the lying and the cheating, I should forget you but I won't. You used up all of me, made me lose all of me.
It amazes me just how much you still mean to me. It's silly how my heart will never let me forget the feelings I once had for you...my torch for you is still lit.
