Time has passed so rapidly, since that day that you left me-
in tears that were unstoppable, running down my cheeks.
A broken heart, that I never thought would mend ever again-
left to lay alone without the person who I fell for deeply.
Feelings that were expressed, but torn apart from rejection.
Nothing remained, it felt like I was taking my last breath.
Smile faded; immediately replaced with a depressing frown.
There was no hope at all, after all there was nothing left to hope for.
Things have defiantly been better since then, I am healing.
Pain doesn't exist anymore, but I do think about you sometimes.
My heart has been patched up, it will never be the same again-
but it beats regularly; still shows affection; is ready to find new love.
Past thoughts are fading, heart is mending, smile resurfacing.
I learned a valuable lesson, a heart can easily be broken.
Giving someone the key to your heart; means everything.
You have to make sure you give it to the right person.
Trusting them to hold it with delicate hands, to not break it.
